by Donald W. Beals
This book describes the life of Abel Beals (1755 – 1830), who left Massachusetts
during the difficult times shortly after the U.S. declared
independence from Great Britain. He brought the name to Nova Scotia where
he converted virgin forest to farm land and raised a family.
Because there are only a few official
documents available
recording events in Abel's life, it was
necessary to supplement
these with a fair amount of speculation to
draw a picture
of our ancestors' pioneering activities and
times.
